There’s a camp of people (no pun intended) that insist that the Class C RV is the most versatile of all the RVs. Let’s have a look at some of the thinking.
The Class C RV does have a lot going for it. For one thing, you can find them short enough, some under 20 feet, that they are as easy to park at the mall as a family car. At the other end of the range, you can buy them upwards of 30 feet. Good news for a large family vacation when they might sleep as many as eight people.
Probably the thing I like most about a Class C RV is having the sleeping quarters over the cab. To me, that means more living space and not having to make up the bed every day. This is especially important if you are are full-timing.
In most class B Rvs the bed has to be put away to enjoy the full functionality of the vehicle. With a Class C, you won’t have this problem. However, you also won’t be restricted to sleeping over the cab.
Some floorplans offer a full-size bed in the rear with an additional sleeping option in the dinette. You can even find class C’s with bunks. Great if you’re traveling with kids.
Keeping demographics in mind, manufacturers are starting to build rigs best suited to couples. Baby boomers are hitting the road after retirement, or even pre-retirement, to full-time and new rigs have discarded the sleeping area over the cab for entertainment and media centers.
The Class C RV offers a number of other advantages as well and they deserve the loyalty of their owners.
