Fall can be the best of times

I was talking with a friend a few days ago, and he was lamenting the end of another summer.

While I love summer and often follow it, I have to say fall is one of my favorite seasons.

Fall brings a crispness to the air and a certain earthy smell. If you’re on the road it’s a great opportunity to enjoy freshly-harvested produce in the area you’re in. Nothing tastes better than an apple just picked, a potato just dug.

If you’re in the northeastern U.S. or Canada, fall hosts a spectacular show as leaves change color.

The message is .. if you’re living the life you choose, then enjoying the season is simply a matter of changing your perspective.

On the other hand, if fall just means the approach of winter, then now is the time to start making your plans to head further south and follow the sun for the next few months.

RV Roof Repair

Summer is no longer a rumor - it’s already here in some parts and just around the corner in others.

If you’re pulling the RV out of storage, then you may have found yourself face to face with a leak that you didn’t know about last fall.

Here’s a great video that walks you step by step through a patch-type repair. Not the prettiest solution perhaps, but a quick workable fix that will keep you and your stuff dry and cozy.

You CAN Build your own RV

A lot of people feel that getting the rig they want will put them in the poor house. They will either have to compromise or end up with large monthly payments. What’s the fun of having a ‘mortgage’ on your vacation? Or trading in your house and still having to maintain a large RV loan?

To the rescue comes this fabulous do-it-yourself project! It’s a 5th wheel that you can build at home.

You have to see this - it’s very cool. He starts with a flatbed and builds out a beautiful 5th wheel complete with slides.

If you are a DYI guy, or just inspired by other people’s abilities to build something from nothing, you absolutely have to see this video!

And I love the theme song. Why put it off until tomorrow? Life is waiting for you right now.

I have to say again… I really love that theme song.

That’s what the family in the video below did.

How many people RV full-time?

How many people RV full-time? In a recent article, it was cited that almost a million people throughout the U.S. live in their RVs full-time.

It seems the more things change, the more they stay the same.

This video is circa 1937. Be sure to listen closely for the opening words of the announcer when he reveals how many people RV full-time. Also, the RV resort is filled with interesting looking RVs that we would never see on the road today.

Enjoy!

Is the Class C RV the most versatile RV?

There’s a camp of people (no pun intended) that insist that the Class C RV is the most versatile of all the RVs. Let’s have a look at some of the thinking.

The Class C RV does have a lot going for it. For one thing, you can find them short enough, some under 20 feet, that they are as easy to park at the mall as a family car. At the other end of the range, you can buy them upwards of 30 feet. Good news for a large family vacation when they might sleep as many as eight people.

Probably the thing I like most about a Class C RV is having the sleeping quarters over the cab. To me, that means more living space and not having to make up the bed every day. This is especially important if you are are full-timing.

In most class B Rvs the bed has to be put away to enjoy the full functionality of the vehicle. With a Class C, you won’t have this problem. However, you also won’t be restricted to sleeping over the cab.

Some floorplans offer a full-size bed in the rear with an additional sleeping option in the dinette. You can even find class C’s with bunks. Great if you’re traveling with kids.

Keeping demographics in mind, manufacturers are starting to build rigs best suited to couples. Baby boomers are hitting the road after retirement, or even pre-retirement, to full-time and new rigs have discarded the sleeping area over the cab for entertainment and media centers.

The Class C RV offers a number of other advantages as well and they deserve the loyalty of their owners.

Building your own Class B RV

Today kids, we’re going to look at how to build your own Class B RV.

Seriously. Rick, who you’ll meet in the video below, has completely outfitted a cargo van with a full bathroom, shower and running water.

It’s pretty slick and under 10 minutes. And even if you’re not up for building your own, he has some ideas that can maximize your space or just kick-start your thinking if you’re considering modifying your own rig.

Luxury RV Living

RV living can be a lot of things.

If you’re living full-time in your RV, it can be the ultimate freedom.

A long weekend away in your pop-up in an oceanside campground can be a great way to have an inexpensive family reunion.

From fifth-wheels to camper vans to vintage airstreams trailers, there’s a wide range of RVs on the road.

Some RVs would make Jeff Foxworthy blush. Jeff Foxworthy is the ‘You might be a redneck’ guy.

One of my favorite redneck jokes by him is: You might be a redneck if you have 17 cars that aren’t mobile and a house that is.

So why am I talking about trailer trash? Well, I’m often told by other full-time RVers that people they meet think they can’t afford a house. Or might feel sorry for them.

Hmmm. In case there’s any confusion, maybe this video will help.

Not everybody who lives in an RV lives in such luxury, but whoever lives in this one won’t be mistaken for trailer trash.

Guest post: The secret to getting a good camping spot

So you’ve been traveling around, staying in a variety of RV Parks, campgrounds and State or National Parks. By now you have logged many experiences to remember. Some of them were good and some of them were not.

There is a secret to it. You can create a great stay for yourself by doing a little prep work first.

To begin with, try to understand that RV Park and campground owners are welcoming you into their home. It’s not just their business. It is the place they live. They raised their kids there and probably grew up there themselves.

Try to imagine someone visiting you in your living room and opening the conversation with a complaint. They don’t like the way you’ve arranged the seating. There wasn’t room in the driveway and they had to park on the street. Their teenage daughters are coming along later with two cars and they want you to make room for them. They think your water isn’t hot enough and you buy cheap toilet paper.

Please give yourself this gift…

“Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the
freedom to make mistakes.” - Mahatma Gandi
http://landofthefreee.com

When you set goals, focus on your future or daydream about
how your life *could* be, do you find yourself focused on
all the mistakes (failures) you’ve made in the past? Or do
you dismiss dreams of freedom because you’re afraid to go
out of your comfort zone and make a mistake (be a failure).

If you’re like most people I speak with, fear of failure is
your biggest barrier to freedom.

For some, it wouldn’t matter if I gave you a “sure thing”,
you wouldn’t go for it because you might make a mistake,
look bad or fail all together.

If this is you, I have a gift for you.

For today only, this email is your pass to freedom…freedom
from the fear of failure.

(You’ll also find a quicker path to Freedom on the road….keep reading…)

I have a “sure thing”. No it’s not a get rich quick “sure
thing”. It’s the “Land of the Freeeee”. It’s a place where
you can’t make a mistake and you have total freedom.

It’s my gift to you.
http://landofthefreee.com

Now I’m going to ask you to give yourself a gift…
Please give yourself a break, take a step out of your
comfort zone and go for a dream or take a shot at that goal
you’ve always wanted. Go for it like it was a “sure thing”,
and no matter what - you can’t fail.

This gift expires in 24 hours or less, so please go for it
now, while it’s fresh on your mind.

You can do anything!

Don’t miss this - it’s awesome. And among the free gifts you can sign up for a freee 5-part course on how to RV full-time.

P.S. A friend of mine has 29 gifts, worth over $2,500, for
you to download at http://landofthefreee.com. I highly
recommend that you get these gifts today. The site might not
be up tomorrow.

P.P.S. Feel freeeee to give this gift to a friend.
