Fall can be the best of times

I was talking with a friend a few days ago, and he was lamenting the end of another summer.

While I love summer and often follow it, I have to say fall is one of my favorite seasons.

Fall brings a crispness to the air and a certain earthy smell. If you’re on the road it’s a great opportunity to enjoy freshly-harvested produce in the area you’re in. Nothing tastes better than an apple just picked, a potato just dug.

If you’re in the northeastern U.S. or Canada, fall hosts a spectacular show as leaves change color.

The message is .. if you’re living the life you choose, then enjoying the season is simply a matter of changing your perspective.

On the other hand, if fall just means the approach of winter, then now is the time to start making your plans to head further south and follow the sun for the next few months.

Imagine packing up the RV with your favorite things and hitting the road for the entire summer — or even longer if you like to full-time, and then …

Racking up more than 40,000 miles over 48 states.

That’s what the family in the video below did.

Freedom! Now that’s what we’re talking about!

How many people RV full-time? In a recent article, it was cited that almost a million people throughout the U.S. live in their RVs full-time.

It seems the more things change, the more they stay the same.

This video is circa 1937. Be sure to listen closely for the opening words of the announcer when he reveals how many people RV full-time. Also, the RV resort is filled with interesting looking RVs that we would never see on the road today.

Enjoy!
